Guy and Pete on NPR's Weekend Edition

Scott Simon of NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday interviewed Guy Garvey and Pete Turner this morning about the new album, the Olympics, and Manchester's music scene.

It was a nice interview.  I liked that Scott Simon, one of my favorite interviewers, didn't let Guy hog the mic.  And I didn't really know anything about Guy's ex Emma until this interview; I didn't know that she was a novelist and that she was writing a novel about her relationship with Guy.

That interview in Intelligent Life had a lot more info about Emma, as I recall.

Guy uses a quote from Alien 3 to describe his relationship with the band. Reminds me that at heart Guy's somewhat of a geek still and it makes me feel really happy inside!

Of course, for strange and inexplicable reasons, I really love that film.  Hate Aliens with the fury of a thousand exploding suns, love Alien 3.  Yes, I'm used to the funny stares.
