Best and Worst from each Album

I can't pick just one song for "Best" - impossible.


Best:

Asleep in the Back - Scattered Black and Whites/Powder Blue/Asleep in the Back
Cast of Thousands - Switching Off/Fugitive Motel/Ribcage
Leaders of the Free World - Great Expectations/My Very Best/Station Approach
The Seldom Seen Kid - Friend of Ours/Weather to Fly/The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver
Build a Rocket Boys - The Birds/Dear Friends/Lippy Kids

Special mention to: Mirrorball and The Bones of You from Seldom Seen Kid..... basically, the whole album! Seriously can't fault it.....or at least, not much!

Worst:

Asleep in the Back - Bitten by the Tailfly - really don't like it. Not Elbow at all.
Cast of Thousands - Grace Under Pressure - it has grown on me a little but still don't see the appeal.
Leaders of the Free World - The Everthere (not sure why, but just find it a little.....flat....lyrics are amazing, though, as ever).
The Seldom Seen Kid - Grounds for Divorce (I actually like this song, so it should tell you a bit about how much I like the album..... not quite up there, though, for me.....and again, a bit too macho for Elbow IMO).
Build a Rocket Boys - High Ideals - it's okay. Just okay. Nice rhythm. but it doesn't really do it for me.

Here's my lot. Tricky but even the least faves I still love in their own way.

Best:
AITB - Red - The song that led me down the path of Elbow, and went on to be the first song I ever heard Live by anyone. But veeeery closely followed by Asleep In The Back and Scattered Black & Whites, both of which I used in my wedding soundtrack!
CoT - Fugitive Motel
LotFW - Great Expectations
TSSK - Friend Of Ours
barb! - Jesus Is A Rochdale Girl - Took me a while to warm up to it but now it's one of my all-time faves.

Least favorite:
AITB - Little Beast
CoT - Not A Job - Doesn't feel quite 'complete' somehow.
LotFW - The Everthere - Same as Not A Job.
TSSK - An Audience With The Pope - I like it but doesn't really feel like it fits with the album.
barb! - With Love - Same again... but I do like that all the lads including Jupp and Pete get to sing it Live.

Are we allowed to throw in Dead in the Boot now? Yes? Cheers

BARB!: Jesus is a Rochdale (For 2 reasons. 1. I'm from Rochdale. 2. It's a brilliant song. As a side note, I don't see what everyone's beef is with With Love? I quite like it)
DitB: Lucky with Disease (reminds me a lot of AitB. This is a good thing).

Worst -

CoT: Crawling with Idiot
LoftFW: Can't even choose one
TSSK: The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver. Everyone seems to love it but it just bores me to death
