| Great find, thanks Mr_K
I like the sound of this song, particularly Craig's piano

| Listened to it a couple of times and it really is rather lovely.
Sweet, simple and to these ears better than anything on the previous album.

| Cheers Mr K - listened to it twice - it's simplicity is great, AGAIN - not blown away by it but REALLY need to hear the album in all it's glory to appreciate it more, like Neat Little Rows - from what I've heard so far, it's not going to be as immediate as TSSK but more of a grower - absolutely no bad thing. | |

| Beautiful! And the piano is really nice. I hope the track is on the CD quite similar | |

I agree - need to hear the whole package - definatley seems like an album that will grow. Its difficult without the other tracks - then you 'get' the subtle moments better. I'm really hoping there's some lifting parts too. I'm praying for a great opener (been spoiled by every other album!)

| I'm reluctant to listen to this... for fear of falling victim to First Version syndrome or whatever Guy calls it. You know, where the first version of a song that you hear is the one you love the most. Every time I'd listen to the album I'd end up wanting to listen to this Live version! | |

| I understand what you're saying, but why deny yourself such a thing of beauty??? So much joy and pleasure... And best of all: it's neither illegal or fattening! | |

| Love it. But I understand the "First Listen" principle, so I'm only going to listen to it once.
If I can hold out.
Maybe. | |

| First, immediate impression: Lovely. Just lovely! Second, after-thinking-about-it-a-bit impression: Is it just me, or am I getting a little Scattered Black and Whites vibe from this one? Something about it strikes me as similar. Not that it sounds like the same song. Just more of a vibe thing. | |

| Actually, you are so right there, Chrissie... I listened to it again and it's very reminiscent of 'Scattered'. Like I said, it's the little piano bits thrown in here and there, but definitely the guitar is very like it too... Which I think is all good !!! | |

| OK, glad you kinda got where I was coming from there, Jones! Though I guess those piano bits we all like so much will disappear on the album; the snippet on iTunes sounds like there's electric keys in place of the piano, but the song will still be quite good I think. There's still that lovely warm acoustic guitar there. And I noted something else when I played the video of the live session for the 75th time this morning...give or take a few times... When I heard those opening verse lyrics, I knew I'd heard them before. If this has been noted elsewhere and I'm being all "DUH!", then somebody please let me know. But those lyrics are from the poem that Guy read on the South Bank Show. I think so anyway, gonna go back & look at it later when I have time, but I'd swear he had out a notebook of writing and he read a poem with the lines about the paint cans and nothing to be proud of and nothing to regret, and all that. Anyone else recall that? | |
