| My one claim to fame ... ever ... I went to same higher educational establishment as Phil Selway (drummer) - Liverpool Poly. But there's more ... we both performed in the same band in three different musicals - Cabaret, Blood Brothers and Grease. Now obviously I'm not going to dine out on this, but it gives me an enormous sense of well-being to bore my wife and elder son with these facts periodically. I will however refrain from repeating myself here for fear of ostracisation. Lovely bloke by the way and a wicked guitarist as well as drummer. | |

| As you can tell by my avatar and forum name, Radiohead are one of three music obsessions I have in life, the others being Elbow (of course) and U2 (1978-1998).
In Rainbows = genius! | |

| I could barely wait for Build A Rocket Boys! and The King Of Limbs when announced, and yet neither album exactly set my world alight within the first couple of weeks of release. Over a month in for BARB and nearly two for TKOL, songs from both are now rarely out of my head for long. But whereas Elbow are like a friend you become steadily closer to over the years, and can always rely on to cheer you up and understand your point of view, Radiohead are more like a girl I once had a crush on; fascinating and occasionally intimate, but no matter how much headway was made previously, every time you meet up you feel like you're starting from scratch. And ofcourse I suppose that's the appeal........... In Rainbows does indeed = genius, but what about The King Of Limbs? It certainly doesn't = generous | |

| I agree. While TKoL has grown on me over time, I can't help but think there's something missing. The single and the new song are better, which leads to the question, "Why aren't these tracks on TKoL?" | |

| The songs The Daily Mail & Staircase have both been released as a single this month, what does everyone think?
It baffles me how these songs didn't make it on TKoL, particularly The Daily Mail, which i think is a fantastic song, it only just missed out on my top 10. | |

| Anyone see the Coachella festival set online?? (there is a torrent floating about incase you missed it on Youtube b4 they blocked it)..... They sounded awesome for the most part, the one exception for me being 'Idioteque' where Phil Selway and guest drummer Clive Deemer just couldn't seem to keep tight with the programmed beats and it felt messy. Some points open to comment/criticism/witticisms..... 1. The powerful performances of the songs from Limbs plus Daily Mail/Staircase confirm that TKOL could have been monumentally better than it is. 2. Johnny is a friggin genius! 3. Thom seems to be in the throes of a midlife crisis (a la Bono's Mephisto phase!) - embarrassing improv dance moves and what's with the ponytail????!!! 4. Maybe this is because he's the only member of the band who looks like he's reached 'midlife' | |
