Mr Garvey has been vilifying Jim Kerr/Simple Minds for quite some time .. if perchance he were to listen to this collection he might just change his mind. First 5/6 albums in a box set for £12.99. A bargain of Pantagruelian proportions

Quite right Cozzer. Brilliant up to "New Gold Dream (81–82–83–84)" and "Sparkle in the Rain" is pretty good too. Unfortunately it did go all a bit wrong after that (although "Once Upon a Time" has a kind of vacuous widescreen glory - a Top Gun of an album).

I've been listening to 2 Yeti albums today.

Firstly "The Echo Show" by France's Yeti Lane. At times brilliant, sometimes just annoyingly short of brilliance, but most enjoyable. Think My Bloody Valentine and Spiritualized plays early Floyd, mixed by LCD Soundsystem, backed by Neu's rhythm section (but not as good), with, inevitably, Air - like lush pop gloss. A big sound!


Secondly "The Legend of Yeti Gonzales" by Yeti - featuring ex-Libertines guitarist John Hassall. West London meets The West Coast. Psychedelic 60's influenced jangly guitars and harmonies, with a strong Beatles influence.

Ed Harcourt 'Strangers', and Scott Walker 'Scott 2'.......nicely

Have been listening to Leonard Cohen 'Live in London ' excellent , checked out his new album on You tube , sounds great, right back to the el-boys , enough diversions !

Strangelands - Keane's new album, out yesterday, brilliant!

Had the priviledge of being at their BBC Radio 2 in Concert last night, amazing! To be broadcast next Thursday at 8pm.

^ I'm just glad they're not doing stuff along the lines of "Perfect Symmetry" anymore. That album has more or less restored my faith in Keane. <3

Last night 'Spirit Of Eden' by Talk Talk............WOW!
Cannot think of one other album from the 80s that has aged as well as this, sounds like it could've been recorded last week. Gonna enjoy 'Laughing Stock' later, and perhaps Mark Hollis's solo album tomorrow

I just listened to The Temper Trap's self-titled sophomore effort. I was a bit disappointed. There's some really good songs on it, but there's also some garbage. It's not near what I expected as a follow-up to "Conditions."

The suns out in Manchester and driving around it's just the perfect backdrop to warm sunshine - I LOVE this album.

It's good mate isn't it ?

Not quite on a par with 'Teen Dream', it doesn't have the hooks of that album........after about 6-7 listens though, I'm getting into it - personally I think the first half of the album is comfortably better.

Definitely get the Cocteau Twins comparison and I'll be going to watch them live again once they, hopefully, announce dates in the UK.

Oh and Victoria is HOT.

Listened to "Valtari" by Sigur Rós in the late evening/early morning hours. Beautiful. "Dauðlogn" brought me to tears. If you like Sigur Rós, you'll definitely enjoy this.

Listened to a mixtape, and some recordings my band got back from the venue we played earlier this month. Haven't really listened to an album all day.

Yes it is, can I do quite like it I'm pretty sure who made it.
