| Great thread! Mine was Yazoo, * dons Dame Edna glasses and wig * who've spookily just had a revival tour, darlings. That was back in 1982 at the Palace Theatre, Manchester. I was only 14 so I had to go with my Mam 'cos it would be a late journey back on the train | |

| The first show I saw was by a Canadian band called Red Rider. They were playing an amusement park and all the shows there were free at the time. - mrswoman wrote:

| Bloody hell this is a hard question as I was brought up watching bands who played at the Wigan Casino (rock night) before the Soul Brothers did their thang from 1,0am till fook knows when.....
I got to see many a decent up and coming band from Judas Priest to the Scorpians and even the likes of Motorhead , the Britsh Lions, Slaughter and the dogs, The Adverts, BUT the best of all live bands at a small venue had to be Slade,,,,,,,who had done Glastonbury the year before and they stole the show..and where nothing less than fantastic.....
I suppose the one which stands out for me is the last gig Thin Lizzy played at the Empire Liverpool just before PL died,,,,,,,,,,or was it the time we got to see DEVO instead of The Tubes when Fee Waybill broke his ankle in Glasgow after falling off stage.
Then after that we used to follow the Acrobats of Sa round the north west to obscure places like the Shi toal at Chorley and then the Beer Engine pub/club at Wigan which has now gone posh and is called something else......
Regards
Condo,,,,,,,,, | |

| I think my first real gig was a German band called "Wir Sind Helden" in 2004 or something. They played near, so we went there. My first live music experience was a festival. Forestglade Festival, my sister's friend was being stupid so she's asked mum whether she could bring me instead... I was 11 at that time. They had bands like Placebo, some German bands, Cypress Hill, BRMC (in the afternoon, sunshine, it was terrible) ...my mum would probably say that, considering my addiction to live music, it's gone downhill since then | |

| I wouldn't really be too apologetic about seeing a band like Green Day at the age of nine...
It could have been worse.
