| Read, but sad. This forum used to be fun. Now I feel like I'm in 1984. | |

| These are the original rules, with a bit of tweaking, now we're getting bigger we need to have a forum that functions in a way that allows people to find the information they need. We still have the chatbox, off topic, the hole and the kasabian thread for all the fun you want! | |

| Cheer up, it's just a bit of house keeping!
It's not the mod's getting on their high horse, it's stemmed from comments and requests from users of the site.

Having fun here is all up to you.

| There's no need to go, SG. Why, when all we've done is clarify the terms of being a forum member? | |

| What MrsW said - This isn't about vicitmisation, this is about everyone being on the same page. If you feel this is a place you don't want to be, it's a shame considering how much it has brought you, would you have met these people (Or the band you clearly love) without being a member here? You have threatened to leave before and i attempted to talk you around at the time and you stayed. Think before you act, i'm not going try and persuade you, just think on it. | |

Sounds to me like you didn't get the message at all. Please don't take these comments as a desire for you to leave, this is not the case. You are a valued contributor to the forum, and a pleasant person to be around. These new rules are for EVERYONE.

| Well, I'll stick my oar in and say..........the MODS have their jobs to do, and from what I see, do it very well, it's a brilliant board with barely an idiot on it. I think Sunday Girl is a fantastic and probably most enthusiastic member of the board, as stated in effect, by the MODS. Time to relax, take a chill pill and look FORWARD. | |

| Wow, such drama...not going to throw in on this specific issue, but just wanted to say that I understand what a chore it can be to maintain a good atmosphere on a site like this, and I appreciate all the things the mods do to make this place so wonderful. I also appreciate all the members, for what it's worth - y'all are a great bunch (ALL of ya! ) and i would hate to see folks go sour around here for any reason. This is a very unique site with a true sense of community about it, even for those of us who live an ocean away, so I hope we all stick around and keep up the good work! | |

| Tuppence worth time ! I'm catching up on a lot of whats been going on over the last week or two. While i completley understand we need rules for technical reasons and to keep some kind of order, it does seem to me that they should not be the focus for the forum. They have always been applied loosely and sensibly - or perhaps not even applied. Everyone is going to get upset by one thing or another, and this place is generally pretty lighthearted, There are some forums where moderation is required because of particularly abusive posts etc however this place has always been relativley good at self-policing. Some behaviours may be irritating or even annoying - but surely we all have to acept thats the way society is anyway ? Lets not get into splitting hairs over what breaks a rule and what doesn't - othwerwise you are going to have a very divisive and unfair environment. In my opinion (for what its worth !) I only want to see people being pulled up where they have clearly overstepped the mark. "Rules are for fools and the guidance of wise men" Maybe this should be in the rant thread | |

| Everyone gets PMs like that. I think you believe that we are victimizing you because we have suddenly decided to review the moderating style. This isn't the case. You haven't done anything major to deserve any punishment (and we haven't even given any punishment), all we have done is warned you. The fact is, we have sent warnings and suggestions to quite a few members, you're just the only one who has taken offence to it.
Anyway, what's done is done. We may have dealt with it a little harshly and we aren't going to do anything more to you (such as banning), simply because you don't deserve it. You have done nothing wrong.
Your choice is simple, either stay, or go. It makes no difference to us either way. You are a friendly and funny member of this community, and we would be sad to see you go over such a trivial matter, but if you feel that you need to leave, then do.

| Well I hope to God everyone's wasn't as vicious as mine. Frankly I don't like being called a "wayward and unruly child who thinks she can do a she pleases"!
And it is evident that You no longer care who you hurt or who you offend. I am devastated to leave this forum. But I do feel victimized. And I do feel picked on.

| SG - and anyone else wanting to know - that PM was to ask you to be in line with the rules. We wanted to be discreet and respectful, in the same way we dealt with others breaching forum guidelines. The new rules are a revised set of what has always been in place. Unfortunately, despite being given several chances to post in line like most other people here do, you choose not to.
However, we're not saying you're banned - NOR do you have to leave. You're the only one of those (who needed to be reminded of these rules) who has chosen to make this personal and protest about something that was already part of this place. It's sad that you appear to think you're immune from doing what everyone else is asked, or that you're being singled out: Not the case.
If you find observing some simple rules that don't stop you from being a part of this place too much to ask, then maybe leaving is a rational reaction. That's up to you.

Actually the line was ," It also makes you look like an unruly kid who thinks you can do as you please, which may or may not be what you’re intending." SG, you have been bailed out before on a few counts, but it doesn't seem to make any difference despite you seeming to know exactly what you're doing. The PM was factual. If you want the whole message posting in the interests of fairness and accountability, your call...

| OK, I am really reaaly angry. I DO NOT think I am immune I do NOT tink I am above the rules I Do NOT think I can do what ever I please.
I am so upset I can't type and my hands are shking. I cannot believe that after all this time people think that about me. I have never acted like that! But if that is what you think then obviously I can do or say nothing to change that.
