Live Screening - Castlefield Arena 9th July

"Those not lucky enough to get a ticket for Elbow's unique collaboration with the Halle on 9th July will still have a chance to see the show.

Elbow, the Halle and the organisers of the Manchester International Festival with Manchester City Council are happy to announce that the concert will be shown on a free live relay to a giant screen in the Castlefield Arena. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis on the night and there will be no advance tickets.The doors at the Castlefield Arena will open at 6pm. There will be no admittance before this time.

The live relay of the concert will start at 7.30pm and finish at approx 10.00pm.

On the night:
For your enjoyment and safety on the night, please note:

- Access to the event is free – though gates will be closed when the venue is at capacity. There is no guarantee of re-admission to the site if you leave. Toilet facilities will be available on site.
- Children under 14 are not permitted unless accompanied by an adult.
- The event organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to any person. Persons will not be admitted if in the opinion of the stewards, they are under the influence of alcohol or an illegal substance.
- The special circumstances of this event allows alcoholic drink to be brought in to the arena in reasonable quantities - though glass will not be permitted into the venue.
- There will be no food or alcohol concessions on site - but picnics and food are permitted to be brought into the venue.
- A security search may be carried out.
- The event organisers reserve the right to make any alteration to the advertised details for the performances.
- The use of photographic or recording equipment in the event arena is prohibited.
- All attendees consent to the filming and sound recording of themselves as members of the audience.
- Portable chairs are permitted but please show consideration in their placement.
- In the interest of safety please do not bring glass items, barbecues or flaming torches.
- No dogs allowed in the event arena. (Except guide dogs)"

Planning our trip already and this time we can take the kids!! Should be a great evening if the rain stays away. Can't think of a better way of spending an evening with a picnic, my family around me and Guy singing his heart out albeit on a giant screen-roll on next week

Oh, that would be brilliant!
Doubt it will be put on DVD, seeing as the BBC Orchestra thingy is quite similar...

The Abbey Road was originally going to be limited edition wasn't it - perhaps they'll do it for this. It may recoup the cost of the cameras and screen if nothing else!
