Hi all,
Am off to see Pearl Jam in Manchester with a mate of mine who's really into them, I've only heard a couple of songs but thought I'd go along for the ride. Anyone got any experience of them ?

I saw them last summer, with Kings of Leon as opening act - quite the double bill as they were both excellent. I never got into Pearl Jam too much in their 90's heyday - I wasn't really miserable enough for grunge! But I also tagged along with a friend to the gig last year and I'm very glad I did. They put on a hell of a show, and you'll probably enjoy the energy and the sound of their performance even if you don't know all the tunes that well.
Plus, as an added extra bonus, PJ's gutarist, Stone Gossard, looks like Steven Spielberg.

Agreed - the new album sounds really good! Radio here has been playing the shit out of The Fixer and I'm starting to get a bit over that track now, but as a whole, the album was really well done.

I don't know if I should resurrect this old topic or create another one... So let me join in.
My partner and I are taking advantage of being in the UK for a while to go to some gigs. We are planning to see Pearl Jam in MEN Arena June 2012!
So, a little question to those who know the venue. Ten Club is offering either standing tickets or seating. The seating places are described as:
"A small section of reserved tickets on the first level. [...] For Manchester reserved tickets only- seat locations are assigned based on seniority in the fan club. Seat locations are not revealed in advance. You will find out your seat location when you pick your tickets up at will call."
Would anyone have any idea where this "first level" is? Is it close enough to the stage? I wonder if the seats numbers are in the 100s (not in the 200s) in the scheme below:
