And there's Ticketmaster, tho their not all that great. Dont know which to log on to now

Nellie, you could try opening multiple tabs on your browser (Firefox & Internet Explorer) to have a simultaneous crack at them all, until you get through to the first open one.

Just watch out as the Ticketmaster site (I think, not G&T) is geared up to detect more than one open tab and kicks you out.

will do that then, dont think I'll bother with ticketmaster, tried to get tix for Blackpool through them and they were sold out but got them from G&T no probs.

I often use Seetickets (after shopping around I've found they're the least bad (although still a rip-off) with extra charges etc. - do booking fees, transaction fees - and sometimes even card and postage fees on top of that (!) - get other people as angry as me? Why can't they just set a *** ticket price?) and will have a tab for them open too. I presume my shopping around means I've had several tabs open at once in the past and I haven't found it a problem with them at least. I've also got the MEN bookings page bookmarked ready.

Do you think such a large venue will sell out that quickly? Should I book some extra too as I know I'll be at the computer then?

(Beginning to sound like a Rolling Stones "farewell tour" that goes on for decades - I always said I'd see them in lovely small venues while I could and stop going when the gigs got too big for my liking, but hey this is Elbow - they're totally addictive )

I paln on using See Tickets and gigsandtours (there is a link to them from the Elbow<myspace message about the show) and I'm thiking of having the MEN one up too.

Yep, same hear Sunday Girl, I've got various sought after tickets on there, including Morrissey ones recently, think it'll be See Tickets with the dog n bone with other hand...........after reading this thread just now, I'm starting to freak out myself about missing out !!

If you miss out and I'm successful, please feel free to ask about a gig swap regarding your Halle tickets (puts Sunday Girl under a trance....!)

I'll probably be using Ticketmaster, they were the only site responding when I tried to get Muse tickets a few years back, so I trust their capacity to handle the requests for tickets. Will have MEN open as well though.

Ha ha! That won't work!!!

But good idea to have two browsers open - I'm planning on Seetickets and gigsand tours on one browser, and MEN/XFM on the other. And having the mobile on hand just in case.

What do you think the limit will be? I hope it's not just four. I priomise that if it's more I'll get at least one extra, maybe two. But my poor bank balance!!

You know, all said and done.....when you think about it, the Apollo shows didn't sell out straight away, even after they won the Mercury. Wembley didn't sell out right away...

I remember when I went to their DJing gig at Tiger Tiger, I assumed everyone there was there for Elbow, but everyone we spoke to were "Elbow? Who are they?" I'm wondering if this is our little version of the Swine Flu pandemic?

Just to add to that and hopefully to cool a few stress levels - I've just been googling capacities and the MEN is about ten times the capacity of Bridgewater Hall so hopefully there won't be a repeat of that one. I'll still be there tomorrow morning though...

Sundaygirl you were at TigerTiger too? That was where I met Guy! I was surprised there were people there that hadn't even heard of Elbow.
I so desperately wanted to go and say something to them but thought everyone was acting too cool and I couldn't be the one mad fan to go and harass them, so I just lurked in a corner staring!

it's scary that it isn't me who's in charge of getting the tickets this time. I always get nervous when someone else is gonna buy tickets because im always afraid they'll cock it up! (really I should have more faith in him )

I have a friend, Andrea, she is AMAZING at getting hard to get tix. She got us Morrissey tix for the Apollo, which had sold out in like 20 minutes. And she got us standing tix for U2/Elbow in Sheffield. I'm more nervous when I do it....

yeah well im pretty good at getting tickets my self so letting someone else do it is freaking me out :p
I will stand by waiting by a computer if it turns out that he can't get them at work. But he is still paying

I managed to get standing tix for Morrissey on the 22nd, so maybe I'm not so bad at getting them and that was through ticketmaster.

I had a terrible nights sleep last night, kept dreaming I was desperatly trying to get tickets for teh ELbow gig andcouldnt get anywhere at all, then my boyf turned into Guy Garvey. Bizzare!!

Green Day and Lilly ( ) Allen tickets are also going on sale tomorrow. I wonder if that will slow down the sites?

On the plus side maybe the touts will be more interested in Green Day than Elbow?
