Yes everyone, Iit's MBV's 38th birthday (cue applause/tumbleweed)

Nothing special planned, friends and family round for a bite to eat accompanied by a boatload of wine for yours truly. Oh, for when I was young, all the anticipation and giddyness 11 November and it's preceding days used to bring me !!

I might put on my James T Shirt, wear a brown bowl haircut wig, drink SKOL and pine for those days when I was young and free !! Cool

Have a great birthday MBV - sink a drink for all of us!

BTW - you know those lottery winners from Caerleon - they live round the corner from me. I see them in the local Spar sometimes. I knew I should have been friendlier to them. Wink

"SKOL" - I remember wolfing that down about the same time - Young and skint - it was always quite cheap at the off licence !

Lovely! Brunettes have more fun, no matter what they say! Laughing

I am celebrating today because I just arranged a wee trip to New York with my daughter! Going to stay in the city for a short getaway (right in Times Square at a rather posh hotel, thanks to my dad's donated Marriott Points!), and we'll be attending the Christmas Spectaular show at Radio City Music Hall. Sooooooooo excited - CAN'T WAIT! cheers

Many happy belated ones MBV. How's about a nostalgic bottle of blue Thunderbird for the weekend? Razz

Way to go, Lynne and Chrissie! A Christmassy trip to NY sounds so magical. City buzz, a crisp walk round Central Park and the atmosphere of Miracle on 34th Street. Wow!

Talking of jolly fellas with beards, it's Mr W's birthday tomorrow too. Drunk

Thanks for the birthday nods, folks!

MBV, I certainly would enjoy a frothy Cumberland Ale for breakfast, but I'm afraid my employer takes a dim view of alcohol in the workplace. Sad

True Manc Hospitality.......The Britons Protection

We were out in Manchester last Saturday afternoon and as the trendy wine bars were getting a bit repetitive we said we take "the wives" to a proper Manchester pub.

We were made very welcome in the Britons Protection but, in my merry state, and in charge of the kitty (bad move) I gave the barman 2 twentys instead of 2 tens for a round costing £19.

I would never have noticed, but the barman immediately said "hang on, you're giving me too much money, you don't want to be doing that".

It made my day, and as I was leaving I thanked him for not ripping me off. He replied with "Why would I, you're one of my customers".

Manchester...On its day, it really is the best city in the world.

It is just another number (year ! and age !)

I had such a wonderful day with ALL my family around me on the 30th. So being 60 is something to celebrate and celebrate it I did do. bounce Party! Drunk
