| Did anyone else catch the two BBC4 programmes about legendary indie label & distributors Rough Trade at the weekend? Being of 'a certain age', it was great looking back how artists like The Fall, Scritti Politti, The Violent Femmes, Aztec Camera, Ivor Cutler, The Sundays, Cabaret Voltaire and even Daniel Miller (of Mute Records) got going. It did mention the almighty bust-up with The Smiths that broke the band as well, but s'pose it's as much a part of the tale as much as Rough Trade's links to indie acts now like The Hold Steady & Arcade Fire. And I never knew Jeanette Lee mentored Duffy... | |

| I saw most of the stuff and very good it was too. Sad to see such an independent and worthwhile label sink to the depths of 'Duffy' however. | |
