Elbow are pleased as punch to reveal that Canadian folksters The Acorn will be joining them to play the supporting role on the band's upcoming UK spring tour.

We're quite sure you'll soon love them as much as we do.

not the most exciting support act, could have been much worse though!

I like what I've heard, I think they'll fit well as a support band...I liked Two Gallants from the tour earlier last year but they just didn't seem to GO with Elbow...anyone understand what I mean? scratch

I'm very happy with The Acorn as support.

Glory Hope Mountain is better than good, I'll definitely be getting to Blackpool on time.

With regard to last year; I enjoyed Two Gallants at Leeds (but I know what you mean al)
I Am Kloot were excellent as expected at Delamere and (I'm sorry to say, cos it's a great album and she's a great artist) I was a bit disappointed with Jesca at the Apollo. Probably not Jesca's fault though, we were stood at the front and I couldn't easily hear her above the general background noise. I'd told my mates about her and we had great expectations

I think the band put a lot of thought into the Support act, allowing us to hear things that they like (and think that we might like) and giving the artist exposure to a wider audience. I'd always turn up to see the elbow "special guests"
Happy New Year everyone
