Arena's are rubbish

Based on my one arena experience Arcade Fire at the M.E.N. Blokes in yellow blazers, the sanitized atmosphere the plastic beer the whole experience was soulless and de spiriting for me, a pity as well because Arcade Fire were great but I might have well have watched it on TV it just didnt feel like I had been to a gig.
Not sure about the other arenas O2 etc but suspect they are equally crap

I agree with you there. It's often a very clinical and formal affair at arenas.

I've been to the 02 Arena three times and although I've enjoyed the gigs each time, I would have enjoyed the shows more if they had been in a smaller, more intimate venue! Perhaps one where you can actually SEE the stage, say.

I HAYTE them, with a little more passion than is probebly healthy!
Elbow/SP at the SECC was one of the most souless gigs i have been to, both bands played their hearts out, but it seemed people's conversations were far more interesting!

You lot havent been to Newcastle Academy, a converted bingo hall says it all. Sound and everything about it is rubbish.

I forgot I'd been to the SECC as well, my gig credentials are POOR!

As crap as Arenas are, they are better than Stadiums. At least you get atmosphere from the light show.
