| anybody else got their tickets for Glastonbury?
What day/stage/time do you think Elbow will be on?
Personally I hope they get the sunset slot on the Pyramid stage on the Sunday. Yes, that'd be perfect.
(obviously I wouldnt be sticking around for the verve!).
I have a feeling the new album is going to transfer fantastically to a festival setting.

Festivals aren't really my thing, though

Mr Garvey himself said 'See you all at Glastonbury' only last night at Oxford.

Other Stage. Saturday night. Before the headliners: Massive Attack.

Maybe Elbow could do Teardrop and Massive Attack could do an elbow song? I think they could do a great version of McGreggor...

| Nice suggestion. Massive Attack are fans of Elbow b-sides so Elbow could perhaps do Teardrop and even a couple of other b-sides together with their new ones at the gig in the woods that is happening a couple of weeks before, and use it as a warm up for these songs for Glastonbury. I'm not at Glastonbury, but am at Delamare Forest. Is there anyone going to both? I wonder if they would have enough time to rehearse a couple of b-sides after touring current set in the States?

I think with all that touring, there'll be little need for further rehearsal, they'll be on top form.

No argument with that (top form) but I think the rehearsing comment referred to b-sides. A couple of B-sides at Delamere Forest would be wonderful! (Craig, are you listening/reading? ). My vote would go for MacGreggor (which I never saw - they put it in the set just after the last time I saw them but it wasn't on this tour) and/or my favourite which I don't think they've ever done live but would kind of suit the forest setting Whisper Grass... Please?

| I suppose they could do, if they feel they have time.
I saw them do McGreggor in Platt Fields park at the Cohesion festival in 2006, but I'd never heard it before, sounded great though.

Hot Chip above Elbow in the billing?!? Actually I'm surprised Duffy isn't above Elbow... mind you she hasn't got four albums behind her.
I like the Grauniad's description of "landfill indie".

| I expect you'll have to arrive early to get anywhere near the Queen's Head for Elbow on Sunday night, it'll be a great way to finish the festival though. | |

| Fingers crossed the Beeb show the Elbow set going out live rather than just as red-button highlights. Their coverage of Glasto often seems a bit hit 'n' miss about who they do justice to. I love smaller festivals but actually going to Glastonbury seems pretty daunting these days, it's just so...HUGE! If you're watching curled up on the sofa you don't have to worry about the mud...or the bevvy supplies | |

| The latest mailout is hilarious... 'One Day Like This' is certainly getting an outing. ....there are already more youtube audience videos of this song than of anything else they have played recently ...and now more to come !! I'll be watching on TV but hope someone here can record this from the telly too! (bbc3 covered at least 3 elbow songs for Glastonbury 2004, and zoom in on the crowd too...I got zapped that time, so who will be filming who?
