Always loved the Chilled Ibiza CD from '97 but that's a whole album. Will have a think about individual tracks later.

| Anything by Sufjan Stevens.
There's something about the banjo that seems so summery to me, especially here in the country. Makes me want to hang out on the front porch, breeze blowing, barefoot, with a brew in hand. Yee haw.
Also really digging CAKE. I used to listen to their stuff a lot. Haven't listened for a long time but recently took out some of their c.d.'s to cycle through again. I like them a lot. Nice to crank in the car.

Cake? Oh, man! Love them! Funnily enough, I just made a mix of their stuff for a friend recently...ever hear their cover of Mahna Mahna? It rocks out loud with bells on!

| It does!
I love CAKE too. They're silly and fun, yet they say some really great and important things through their music. Plus, they're got a GREAT beat!
I was lucky enough to meet John and chat with him for a bit a couple of years back after one of their shows. It was at a very small venue near me. He's such a cool, earthy, and eccentric guy.

| Very cool Topaz! Have never seen them live in all these years, but I'm sure they'd put on a great show! OK, sorry for hijacking the thread there. Let's get back on track... Ahem. How 'bout School's Out, by Alice Cooper? Always loved playing that one on the last day of classes! | |

| Ooh I'll have to dig out my old summer playlist from last year, off the top of my head...Hot Chip - And I Was a Boy from School, Turin Brakes - Pain Killer, Groove Armada - By the River, Beck - Girl!
Definitely agree with Sufjan, particularly Jacksonville for me...and all of Where the Humans Eat by Willy Mason, but that probably stems from playing it to death a few summers ago!

| +1 on Groove Armada. My obligatory 80s summer tune would be 'The First Picture Of You' by the Lotus Eaters, from 1983, which is just gorgeous poppy summer goodness. 'Don't Talk To Me About Love' (Altered Images) always sounds summery to me too | |

| How about almost anything by jamiroqui - Seven Days in Sunny June / Corner of the Earth and others.
Oh Yeah - Ash Groovejet - Spiller Chillin - Mojo or whoever it was. Track by Morcheeba I can't remember but it was a theme tune to shipwrecked a few years back.
Wake up Boo - Boo Radleys
