| ...surprised no one has popped by on the back of the new album.
Personally think it is pretty amazing....love the start, middle and maybe just softens out a bit at the end... All great tracks of course. I'd have been happy with the hard edge all the way through.
Also they played in Zoe Ball radio 2 breakfast show on Friday and did the most amazing cover of witchita linesman... It was phenomenal, apart from the odd cough from Guy. Check it out if you can hear it anywhere

| Loving it so drawn back here to call by. Best album since Leaders of the Free World. The Stops and The delayed 3.15 seem related. Guy said at the RAH playback that he is picking up the guitar again on this one | |

| Pm'd you back. Thanks thats so great!!! Yeah the strumming on the intro! I'm picking up a few strands of other songs whether deliberate or not. Lyrics are brilliant too and as always take you there. Beautiful touch for such a sad situation. I've seen a small number of people saying they don't like the album on Facebook but they must be deaf... for me this is the type of album I've been waiting for. It's possibly two tracks short is my only negative comments | |

| Yes, those lyrics.... And they spent time discussing and getting to an agreement on the track order. To make it a complete album to listen to all the way through, they decided to leave out three tracks that would have made it even sadder. On deronda road and weightless to end bring more positive and hope, and apparently it's not much shorter than LF in length. | |

| True on the minutes... I guess because I'm enjoying it so much thats why it seems shorter! Bought on mp3 download, so no hidden tracks or bonus stuff. You know like Puncture Repair... But also in this album ref to Oceans of Tea and TV.... When we had tea and sympathy in the former | |

- I'd read this too, do you think there must be a song with the phrase 'giants of all sizes' in the lyrics on the cutting-room floor? Coz unless I've missed something, this is the first Elbow album since early pressings of AITB that doesn't have a title track. Greedily, I think they should know an have trusted their ability by now! By my emotional compass, they've never made a "sad" song that wasn't shot through by hope. BTW, while I've been trawling online for interviews, this https://music.apple.com/us/album/giants-of-all-sizes/1474373426 (click 'more') seems pretty indispensable as a Garvey song-explainer for this album.

| Eag, it was also said of the songs that didn't make it that some were about Guy's dad and there was going to be his dad's voice on the album too, but they made the decision for it to be less about Guy's dad and keep the balance for the whole album with the other subjects and bereavements already included. Last part of the interview at RAH https://youtu.be/ernJRbCpxKA (the first part is a live stream on elbow officials facebook.) There is also a podcast audio with audience questions/answers too. https://classicalbumsundays.com/elbows-guy-garvey-on-giants-of-all-sizes-2/ | |

| Does anyone know if the corner of Firebrand and Angel is an actual location? Couldn’t get anything on Google Maps. | |
