| Well, I and a good mate of mine are trundling over to Liverpool on Saturday to see the boys with the WONDERFUL Jimi Goodwin supporting ; we'll be in by 1930, when I've heard Jimi takes to the stage.
Not sure of the layout/runway, as it's my first time there, but we'll be close to where the 'action' is....
Anyone else going ? | |

| Well, last night in Liverpool was a fantastic night.
The band sounded on top form, pretty flawless from what I could see.
Nothing more to really add from what people have stated who've been on the tour so far - the new stuff sounded majestic ; 'Real Life' drew tears from my mate and 'Great Expectations' drew stares from all around me as I bellowed back the words to Guy and co. Oh, and Jimi Goodwin was brilliant, loved his Jon Bon Jovi moment on the runway at the end !
Sort of wish I'd have gone to the Manchester date, now.

God knows what the crowd around me made of my mate and I - can't have been anyome more outwardly excited than us two ! Actually, the people around us were laughing at two grown 40 year old men kissing each other in a non sexual manner !

| Was treated to tickets to last nights gig for what was my 1st Elbow concert. What a fantastic night it was, absolutely loved it. I am a relative newcomer to Elbows music so was wondering if anyone could tell me the title of the song that Guy sang in memory of his mate Stevie Lloyd as it left me close to tears thinking of my lost and loved mum. Somebody pleae help me. | |

| i was there on Saturday night, really impressed with the echo arena.
never thought i'd type this, but elbow in an arena config seem far more at home that the warm-up show on small 02 academy stage in newcastle. can't put my finger on it, but the whole setup of a big stage appears to click with what they are doing... songs that i thought far too mellow and dragged in the academy seemed to take on a new life on Saturday night....
i think they'd sequenced the set list a bit better, it didn't seem to get bogged down in the slow stuff like in the warm-up show -however even the slow stuff seemed to have found some legs in the past two weeks... as said by many here, guy's vocals are sparkling at the moment.
can't really add much else to what has been said already, other than i had a really really great night, the gig was wonderful - one of their best... thought jimi was excellent before hand, two great doves songs included plus giggled at his bon jovi moment anarl...

| I enjoyed it but i was annoyed by the talkers around me ruining the quiter songs. Think i personally preffered Newcastle gig perhaps because it was a bit more intimate. Although i agree some of the slow stuff that seemed to drag at Newcastle has grown in those two weeks or so.
The Echo arena is a much bigger space and in a nicer area than that of Newcastles equivilent. I would go back.

I would go back. unlucky about the talkers - i was alongside the runway on pete's side and it was a great atmosphere - was near the girl that guy took her mobile from to film the band... he looked at me just before he choose her and i ruefully said to the wife later that if she'd had the phone at the time she'd have choosen her... as me & missus said most the night, going to the likes of the leeds, manchester, liverpool arena's... it show's up how behind the times the Newcastle arena is... a soulless echoey tunnel imho...
