| Now that I've heard the acoustic "This Blue World" (spoilers for those who've not heard it)... - My reaction...:
I'm not sure about it.
The absence of the final verse is what makes me iffy about the track, because the final verse is what I love most about the track. First, because I relate to it -- the people you've loved are still a part of you, even when they're gone and you've both moved on. And second, because it's like leaving off the last chapter of a book or the end of a story; the narrative is building to something, but what it's building to is no longer there. Basically, the acoustic "This Blue World" ends up in a diametrically opposite place of the full version.
And that's why I'm not sure about it.

| In the interview Guy did for Intelligent Life (I think) he said that last bit of the song was only added after he and Emma finally called it quits - to give the tune its bite, I believe he said. Maybe the song was acoustic for a first draft and that's what this is? | |
