Guy Garvey's efforts to save my local library !

Another example of Guy never forgetting his roots - I live in Unsworth and have visited the library on occasions but not for a long time.

I really, really hope this works but unfortunately when there's councils involved and budget-cutting measures, these things tend to be pushed through regardless...

Elbow should put a gig on in there.
British Sea Power are doing a similar thing at the moment, looking for libraries to put shows on in.

I work at Unsworth Library and we've been incredibly touched by all the efforts of local people (including the lovely Mr Garvey) showing how much they value their library... and it looks like it's worked. We've been assured by Cllr Bibby that the library isn't going to be closed this year.

Thing is, if people don't use us, don't borrow books or use the computers then we'll be vulnerable to closure again...so please, use your local library!

Also, as both a BSP and Elbow fan, I'd love it if they wanted to play here, they'd look amazing on our balcony and what a way to celebrate.
