One of my favourite bands. Never seen them live, but I particularly love their 80s stuff... despite some slightly dodgy lyrics (you've got to have balls to rhyme "safe as houses" with "wearing the trouziz")

As much as I love their 80s material, I'd have to say that "Songs of Faith and Devotion" is my favorite album by them. They're one of my personal favorites and Dave's solo work isn't all that bad.

Yeah Songs of Faith and Devotion was cool, condemnation and rush spring to mind as faves, though I do like violator etc. They were great at the MEN a couple of years back, Dave G still had the energy of a bloke of much younger years!

Yet another band I gotta do some serious looking into! I love how there's so much good music waiting for me to discover... I hope that never changes.

Just seen TOTP2 and realised where Elbow got their inspiration from for the live performance of Starlings

Ah - "Never Let Me Down Again" - great track with, as you say, iffy lyrics.
Depeche Mode - even in the early days, always stood out from their contempories, with an edge to their synh pop sounds. The best thing to come out of Basildon, without doubt!
Apparantly they have sold over 50 million albums and 35 million singles in their long career. That's some pretty awesome numbers.

Yep. Did an awful lot of boogie-ing to 'Just can't get enough' in my time... But actually pretty much a class act all-round, me thinks...

They have a song that goes 'All I ever wanted, all I ever needed is here, in my arms'. I like that song!

Finaly, I've seen them live. I'm not a stadion fan, but it was pretty awesome. And Dave?? No words.
