| Just bought Man On The Roof as a punt from Fopp and I absolutely love it, there really are some magical moments on it. Would possibly compare it to Wilderenss by Brett Anderson. Gonna have to buy Magpie now and I'd really like to see the guy live. | |

| I can't wait to hear what they produce, if it ever happens... - Rave Magazine wrote:
- While Elbow’s taxing schedule doesn’t look to be letting-up any time soon, Turner has future ambitions to start-up a side-project with fellow Manchester musician, Stephen Fretwell. “He’s a really good mate of mine, he did quite well with a song called Emily, a few years ago. We hang out a lot together and play music to each other and jam.” The mooted collaboration would provide Turner a welcome opportunity to spread his wings stylistically. “On one side [what we do] is very folky but then he [Fretwell] loves Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, so I’d really like to get into some quite weird far out tunes.”

| Another guy I love. He's just so great and friendly in his shows. I was all girly and giggly when I met him outside his last show in Dublin. The poor guy was smothered with the flu but still had a great show. He really deserves much more attention than he gets. Don't think he wont the Ivor but it's still brilliant that he was nominated. Never really listened to the Last Shadow Puppets oddly enough. Hmmmm....must go get some of their stuff. | |

| Anyone made it to any of the shows so far in London or York?
The set list last night was something like this...
Coney Do You Want To Come With? What's That You Say Little Girl San Francisco Blues Bad Bad You, Bad Bad Me (aborted!) Scar Run Play Darlin' Don't (New song) Emily The Ground Beneath Your Feet Lost Without You New York
William Shatner's Dog Bad Bad You, Bad Bad Me - (from Magpie, which he introduced as 'Sicknote')
He was on great form. Vocally sounding better than ever. When asked when the new album would be out he said there wouldn't be one. I hope he was joking.
He took great pleasure in encouraging the drunk heckles from a South African couple, probably to the detriment of everyone else's enjoyment of the show by the end.

| Ahh cheers for that we couldn't make it as we had tickets for Johnny. I thought Guy mentioned something on the wiresleess about Stephen working with a new band and something coming out next year, rather than something solo! | |

I was at York and the setlist looks pretty much the same if not identical. The new song is apparently called Monkey (if it's the same new sog, of course). The biggest disappointment was that there was only the one new song and it was the same one as on the tour in May. Still, it was good to see the daft sod, he does handle the hecklers well.

| I saw them at Glasto. They played the Old Queens Head stage on Thursday before the run of Two Door Ciname Club, Local Natives etc.
They were ok, it's different from Fretwell solo, who I adore, so maybe I need to give them a second chance, but they didn't take my breath away, Stephen's voice didn't sound too good either.

| It's good to have Fretwell back. Anyone made it to any of this tour yet? He was on form in London last night. My only complaint would be the shortness of the set!
Rose Coney San Francisco Blues Darlin' Don't Bad Bad You, Bad Bad Me Run Emily (New song - interrupted by sound problems) Play Lines (2nd attempt at same new song)
William Shatner's Dog The Ground Beneth Your Feet
Judging by the set list he doesn't seem to be any closer to that next album!
I believe he's playing Deaf Institute in Manchester on Monday with Badly Drawn Boy and Jesca Hoop. Manc types should get down.

| Ah thank you for that, I was wondering what the set lists were looking like. We were suppossed to get to Liverpool but didn't make it in the end. I bet Bush Hall was the ideal venue for him.
The Manchester show is this Sunday, can't wait!
