| And this at age 25. It really sucks. I look like a teenager. And it looks like I've dirty teeth. Oh boy, and this for at least 2 years. Great!

| Yeah, ok! Problem is I have great teeth but I have a jaw malposition. So you can't realy see a result. It's called open-bite. | |

| I was the first in my school to have them when I was about 12/13 and they made a hell of a difference. The strangest feeling was feeling my teeth for the first time when mine came off after a good 2 or 3 years. Being able to clean them properly was a bonus too...we are with you pal and it is totally worth it! | |

| Vaguely on topic... I've just booked my first dentist appointment for 10 years. Credit card on standby. | |

| Awww, adult braces are no fun! But if you need 'em, you need 'em and you'll be glad you did it when they're off. My neighbor just got some put on (his were to correct a jaw problem as well), and he's 38, so don't feel bad! | |

| Todays braces are surely less stressy than the one I had to wear as a kid. I had one which that I had to talk with closed mouth!! I never wore it and got another smaller one for the upper teeth. Worked better but was still unpleasant. At least it was worth it. | |

| Hmm...somehow I don't get it. If it shows no results why do you have to wear the brace?? I googled for the open bite, isn't the plan that the bite closes? (after the two years?) Or wouldn't be an operation the better idea? Anyway, of course I wish you luck, that it will be ok one day | |

| I will have an operation in about a year or so. Depends on how long it takes to get all teeth in one line exactly.
Sorry, for writing in German.

| Nice one, Ted! I've been a freelance translator for 15 years - I love the freedom of working for myself, and of course using my languages (German, French and Welsh - most of my work is German, but I'm sure there'sa lot of demand for Spanish too). If you want a serious chat PM me - my careers officers used to look at me as if I'd said I watned to be a Hollywood starlet or something and suggest I used my languages indirectly in another career - but it is possible. | |

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker? I'm a typical south east Welsh woman who can't speak a word and learns the words of the national anthem by rote just before a rugby match!
