How about a thread called Who's going where? for the autumn tour. You have the full list of dates at the top and then people post in the thread as to where they are going. It just needs a daily update by copying and pasting peoples names alongside the list of dates.

That way, it is easy to arrange meet-ups. Apologies if this thread already exists and I'm missing it.

No, it doesn't exist, but as it's only a thread that you are suggesting, it requires no changes to the forum structure, and so can be set up by anyone. So off you go!

how about a category called songs, were everyone can discuss the elbow songs! Would be great!!!

I did consider this, it would be similar to the Genesis forum, keeping band and music seperate.

However, I think it currently would take too much posting away from elbow patch, so I'd prefer to leave it as it is for now. However, it is an idea I have in mind for the future.

Any other thoughts? I'm prepared to set this up now if folks think it's a good idea.

I think it's better to keep the Elbow Patch as it is - music and band kept together means more post action in the forum. Once the buzz around TSSK dies down, there might not be so much general band banter to dish out...

I would keep it as it is, as it could get quite confusing for new and old members alike. I see no harm in keeping it the way it is anyway.

It not about ripping the forum apart, it's just that I would have to say a lot about different songs. What they mean to me, what I am thinking it means, how great the sound of one is... stuff like that.
And if I start this on the elbow patch the first 20 threads would be about songs. That's not great! I think you wouldn't like it and me neither!
Maybe just a category "other elbow stuff" something like that.

"Other elbow stuff" is just confusing, I think we'll stick as it is for now and review it if we get, say, 500 members(!)

ElbowFreak, I'd love it! Surely that's the whole point in the board? Eventually, the threads which have no interest will sink down the board and die. So they wouldn't clutter up the board for too long... or if they do clutter the board it's because there is lots of interest in them.

I know I've said this before, but I still don't really see the need for the Announcements board and think we'd be much better served with all that in the main Elbow discussion board. Then we can set up an Elbow Live or an Elbow Songs board without distrupting everything too much.
