| Hi,
Just thought as I mentioned it in the US tour thread, I'd better explain that as of October, I'll be working and living in America. Not planned, but a work opportunity fell into my lap and I couldn't pass it by.
Of course, according to the Law of Sod, it's three weeks AFTER the elbow US tour (and I'll be not far from Washington DC, so that date would have been very do-able). And to rub it in even more, my other favourite live band, Turin Brakes, are touring the UK a month after I leave.
Will have to get saving for flights back home for the next UK dates, hope they do some more in 2012!

| Congratulations Hilary! Is there a possibility of leaving work - oh I dunno - about three and a half weeks early and celebrate at least one gig? | |

Unfortunately I boxed myself in a corner - it's a transfer with my current employer and I asked to wait til October to go to a) get my house ready to rent out and b) to cover the plays/gigs I've already got in my diary, including one in Dublin on the 30th Sep. - allyngibson wrote:

Thank you! Looks like I won't be a million miles away from you, I'll be in Virginia....

| Virginia's a lovely state. I went to college in Richmond. I have family living there now (in Lynchburg) and moving there (to Northern Virginia round about September-ish). | |

| Congratulations Hilary, that's fantastic news! I know it's a bit of a shame about missing the US tour but seriously, you're going on a big adventure!!! Enjoy it and good luck! I'm sure you'll get to catch the Elboys again sooner rather than later! | |

Yup Hilary; just think, you'll also have all those US band tours - lots of whom don't make it over here - to pick from soon!

| Thanks - I keep veering from excited to "what am I doing", but you've got to give things a go haven't you? | |
